The 5th Phighting Anniversary Zine is a free, digital zine surrounding Phighting!, A class-based shooter game on ROBLOX. We call for all artists, writers and cosplayers to celebrate 5 years of Phighting!Please note this is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with Phighting or Roblox.

Our goal

The goal of this zine is not only to celebrate five years of Phighting, but also as a charity campaign for the Jed Foundation, an organisation set to support teens and young adult's mental health. 100% of donations will be sent to this organisation.

About the Zine

This fan zine is created to celebrate 5 years of the game Phighting, which first released on Februrary 19th, 2022. As a way to show love to the creators and devs of the game, we unite to show our support in the form of art, writing and cosplaying! From veterans to new players, we welcome all members of the community to participate in the zine!This colourful zine will be released on the 5th anniversary, Febuary 19th, 2027, featuring works from around the community and over 50 artists, writers and cosplayers.

Our Charity

While Phighting does not allow third-party sales for profit, we decided to take donations for The Jed Foundation. This nonprofit supports teens' mental health and suicide prevention by working directly with schools and universities to create systems to protect mental health and guide teens and young adults to build life skills and seek help.

Application rules

While everyone is invited to participate in the zine, we do have some restrictionsAge: You must be 13 years old or older to participate. We use Discord to communicate zine information, and to comply with Discord's TOS, we require our members to be 13 years or older!Application Content: We ask that when you submit your application, that the submitted content follows the content guidelines! That means, no extreme gore or NSFW.

Content Guidelines:

While we take almost everything, we do have some guidelines on what can be submitted within the zine! We are a PG-13 Zine.Shipping policy: We allow any SFW ship, as long as it does not include minor/adult or incest. WE DO NOT ALLOW NSFW CONTENT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.Gore: Gore is allowed! After all, this is a shooter game! We ask, however, that you refrain from extreme gore or body horror.Swearing: While we allow swearing, we request that you provide a clean version if you wish to add swearing to your content. We do not allow slurs under any circumstances, regardless of whether it is reclaimable.AI content: We do not allow ANY use of AI content, in writing, art, OR THE APPLICATION PROCESS. Any contributors caught using AI will be immediately removed from the project.

Contributor Applications

Application Rules

Before applying, please make sure you have read the rules section!! Many of the application guidelines are in the form itself, but the process is easier to view here.FOR ALL APPLICATIONS: Please follow the content guidelines in your application. Essentially, this means no NSFW, incest or adult/minor ships, or usage of slurs in ANY portion of the application, including portfoliosApplicants are not required to have Phighting-specific content in their application; though, it is a bonus!To upload material, we require users to use links for their applications. DO NOT USE DISCORD LINKS! These expire and may invalidate your application. We recommend File Garden, Google Drive, Google Docs or AO3 (for writers). Suspicious links will be ignored for the safety of our mods.

Artist Application

We are looking for four types of artists:
• PAGE ARTISTS: who create pages with fully rendered backgrounds
• SPOT ARTISTS: who work alongside writers to produce works that go along with the written piece
• COMIC ARTISTS: who create coloured comics
• MERCH ARTISTS: who create stickers, keychains, profile pictures, and other merch-related artArtists are required to submit 3 samples of their best work, as well as a portfolio with at least 5 works. We ask that your pieces do not overlap, meaning that we would like 8 unique art pieces in total. The requirements for the application vary slightly based on the position you are applying for:• PAGE ARTISTS: must include at least one example of a piece with a fully rendered background, as well as an example of a full-body character art• COMIC ARTISTS: must include at least one example of a finished comic.• MERCH ARTISTS: must include at least one example of a merch design (this is a pretty lenient category).

Writer Application

We are searching for two types of writers:
• FICTION WRITERS: who write fanfiction, poetry, or anything that is not encapsulated in the non-fiction category.
• NON-FICTION WRITERS: who write journalism-style articles, canon-compliant works or essays.Writers are required to submit 3 samples of their best work. We ask that your works be between 300-3k words, with at least one work of at least 1k words. If one of your works is longer, please only provide an excerpt. A portfolio is also recommended, but not required.

Cosplayer Application

Cosplayers are required to submit 3 separate photo samples (can be the same outfit!) and a portfolio with at least 3 different cosplays.

Content Warnings

If you use triggering or heavy topics in your application, please make sure to add a content warning and indicate which portions of the application it applies to.This includes, but is not limited to:
• eyestrain, flashing lights or vibrant colours
• body horror
• extreme violence or gore
• excessive swearing
• non-sexual nudity
• suggestive scenes
• suicidal ideation or self-harm

Q: "What is a zine?"
A: A zine is a fan-made book with art and writing from contributors who all come together around a specific topic! While our project is digital, the same still applies. Here is a more in-depth explanation of a zine :)Q: "Is there a specific theme?"
A: The Phighting zine will be colour-coded, but it won't have a specific focus on any particular characters. Everything and everyone is welcome, as long as it abides by the rules!Q: "Is there a Tiktok account?"
A: Not yet, but hopefully soon. We are still debating whether or not it is worth the risk.Q: "Phighting does not allow for Third-Party sales; does this count as a violation of their merchandise policy?"
A: We have contacted the Dev team and have been authorised to use the zine for charity, since all proceeds will be donated.Q: "Can I apply as an artist or writer even if I don't have any Phighting art to apply with?"
A: Of course! You can apply with any art, writing, or cosplay you choose; it doesn't have to be Phighting.Q: "Is there a way for me to participate even if I am really busy?"
A: Yes, of course! You are able to decide how much or how little you want to contribute, whether that be 9 full-page art pieces or just one. We will have around a 3-month creation period, so we're pretty flexible.Q: "Am I allowed to apply as a contributor even if I don't have social media?"
A: Yep! You don't need to post on social media to apply.
